SEX PISTOLS: SID VICIOUS' Death To Be Commemorated
November 1, 2003The 25th anniversary of the death of SEX PISTOLS bassist Sid Vicious — February 2, 2004 — will be commemorated by a number of projects, collectively titled "Vicious - Too Fast To Live". These will be as follows:
The book "Vicious - Too Fast To Live" by Alan Parker (Creation Books) promises to reveal "for the first time, what really happened in Sid and Nancy's Chelsea Hotel room in the early hours of October 12th 1978, and finally identifies the figure now widely believed to have been Nancy's murderer." Also includes unseen pictures & new information. Advance copies will be available at Wembley Musicmania (featuring a signing session by Parker) on November 30.
The CD, "Vicious - Too Fast To Live" (EMI),will contain the following:

* Live show - September 7, 1978, Max's Kansas City, NYC (featuring Mick Jones)
* Interview - April 1978, Sid's last UK interview, conducted at Virgin offices, Portobello Rd, London
* Unreleased take, "My Way" Part 3 (feat. prominent Steve Jones guitar)
* BBC World Service announcement of Sid's death.
* 16-page booklet.
Running time: 70 minutes.
U.S. release will follow on Warner Bros.
The photo exhibition, "Vicious - Too Fast To Live", will be held at Blink Gallery in Soho, London from mid-January to end of February before moving to New York. It will feature the work of Dennis Morris, Bob Gruen & Roberta Bayley.
The radio special "Vicious - Too Fast To Live" will be broadcast on BBC Radio 6 and will be narrated by Mark Lamarr.
The TV documentary, titled "Who Killed Nancy?", is tentatively scheduled to air on Channel 4.
